I decided not to file this under my Sojourn series because I didn’t really consider this shooting as a “stop over” that was vacation-like in any way.
The Oblation Run is an annual event in the University of the Philippines. Read more about it here. You’ll see some of my shots in that link too.
Covering this year was much more exhausting than last year. I didn’t really move around too much last year. I just stayed in the AS steps and took whatever I could from my position. This year, I made the most of my press card. I literally ran around with the naked frat men. There even came a time when we were already rubbing arms (the people all crowded around them and I was so close that I was pushed towards the frat men).
I wasn’t so happy with my shots, in all honesty, but I had to make do with what I took. So here they are. I decided to make them b/w, first because of the effect and second because they looked better that way.

A frat boy standing guard in the 2nd floor men’s comfort room in the AS building, where the runners were dressing up… or rather dressing down (above).

Handing out flowers to girls is another tradition the fraternity does along with the run (above).

And the run begins (below).

As compared to last year’s firetruck, this year their truck was smaller and had a bust of a naked runner propped on top of it (below).

Make way! (below)

The runners step down the truck (above) and are welcomed by a crowd of excited people (below).

This year their main advocacy is the clean up of the Pasig river (below).

Meet the runners (the next few pictures below).

Walking around the AS Walk like a boss (below).

They stopped over the APO tambayan to sing their frat’s main song (above).

A GMA reporter interviews one of the naked runners. She’s got style, that reporter. It was hilarious to watch (above).

Finally back again in the men’s CR (above).

It was this girl’s birthday (above), and it was tradition for one of the naked runners to take a picture with the birthday celebrant (below).

I bet most of you wish it was your birthday that day. Haha!
